2021 BMW X3

When the BMW X3 is suited up with the proper hitch, the towing capacity maxes out at 4,400 pounds. You have the ability to tow a large number of lightweight gear like a teardrop trailer or your ATVs. There are four trim levels to choose from: sDrive30i / xDrive30i, M40i, and the M. You can choose from any of these, and customize your drivetrain further to maximize your towing power. Explore the features, powertrain and performance specs on the BMW towing.

The X3: BMW Towing Features

As always, the BMW X3 is loaded with technical features to improve your vehicle control as you drive through Los Angeles. The BMW SAV® is a trademark of BMW, combining compactness with SUV capabilities, and the BMW X3 is on the smaller side of the lineup. However, the suite of features make the X3 capable of handling Hollywood roads with ease:

  • Dynamic Traction Control
  • Dynamic Stability Control (DSC)
  • Brake Fade Compensation
  • Start-off Assistant
  • Brake Drying and Brake Stand-by
  • 4-wheel ventilated disc brakes
  • Dynamic Brake Control
  • Cornering Brake Control
  • Servetronic power steering assist
  • Rear-view camera
  • Active Driving Assistant
  • Driving Dynamics Control with ECO PRO, COMFORT, and SPORT mode

There are a variety of upgrades available: Surround View with 3D View, Active Lane Keeping Assist, adaptive headlights, and more. These features and more can make towing your boat or dirt bikes even easier. Check out the upgrades with our parts center.

BMW X3 Towing by Powertrains

There are four BMW X3 trim levels for you to choose from, and no matter which, you are getting a powerhouse of an engine. Check out the available powertrains and drivetrains for your BMW X3:

2022 BMW X3 M

  • Power: 473 hp and 457 lb-ft of torque (3.0-liter BMW M TwinPower Turbo i6)
  • Drivetrain: BMW xDrive all-wheel drive

2022 BMW X3 M40i

  • Power: 382 hp and 368 lb-ft of torque (3.0L M Performance TwinPower Turbo i6)
  • Drivetrain: BMW xDrive all-wheel drive

2022 BMW X3 sDrive30i / xDrive30i

  • Power: 248 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque (2.0L TwinPower Turbo i4)
  • Drivetrain: BMW sDrive rear-wheel drive or BMW xDrive all-wheel drive

When you are trying to decide on a powertrain and drivetrain, consider your typical towing needs. Choosing an xDrive AWD option will make it easier for you to tow your cargo around Burbank due to the higher horsepower and torque.
