The BMW 3 Series is BMW’s best-selling model — and it’s easy to see why with its beautiful styling, powerful engine, excellent driving dynamics, and lower price point in comparison to other BMW models.

BMW is giving the 3 Series a thorough redesign for the 2019 model-year. It will be the 7th-generation of the popular sports sedan, which has been in production since 1975. With an expected release in early 2019, the 2019 BMW 3 Series just finished its final driving tests at the iconic Nürburgring Nordschleife racing circuit in Germany and will make its world debut at the Paris Motor Show in September.

What’s new for the 2019 BMW 3 Series?

Information on the 2019 BMW 3 Series has been fairly sparse, but BMW has revealed some notable details. They are giving the 3 Series more sporty driving dynamics, with a lower center of gravity and enhanced rigidity for the car’s body and suspension. With a wider stance, greater wheel camber levels, and a lower weight, the 7th-generation BMW 3 Series will have more precise steering and increased agility.

Specs on the engine options for the 2019 BMW 3 Series have not yet been announced. However, the 4-cylinder gasoline engine will get a major overhaul. It is expected to be the most powerful 4-cylinder engine offered in a production BMW model. The 8-speed Steptronic transmission will be revised as well. Additionally, the suspension of the 3 Series will get a new damping system, resulting in a smoother and more comfortable ride without sacrificing the sporty character the 3 Series is known for.

Testing of 2019 BMW 3 Series at Nürburgring Nordschleife

The Nürburgring Nordschleife is the perfect testing ground for the 2019 BMW 3 Series and its sporty driving dynamics. With a camouflage wrap hiding the exterior, the new BMW 3 Series went through extensive testing at Nürburgring Nordschleife, with specific programs for the new steering, suspension, and braking systems.
