The All-New 2023 BMW M2
The all-new BMW M2 Coupe continues the tradition of distilling the power of M into its most concentrated form. Featuring a high powered inline-6 engine, rear-wheel drive, and available 6-speed manual transmission, the M2 promises pure driving pleasure.
Taking the classic coupe proportions of the 2 Series that is based on, the M2 features several enhancements typical of an M car. The M2 receives an increase in both vehicle and track width for enhanced performance. The large, frameless BMW kidney grill with horizontal bars along with rectangular lower intakes offer increased airflow the powerplant.
The heart of every M car is under the hood. The M2 borrows the same 3.0-liter M TwinPower Turbo straight-sex engine found in its M3/M4 siblings with only a few minor differences. This high-revving powerplant makes 460 horsepower and 405 lb-ft of torque. An 8-speed M Steptronic transmission is standard, but for those who like to row their own a 6-speed manual is available. Regardless of transmission choice, standard M Traction Control and Active M Differential ensure the full force of power is sent to rear wheels. The sprint from 0-60 takes just 4.1 seconds with the M Steptronic and 4.3 seconds with the manual.
On the inside, drivers are greeted with a driver-centric BMW Curved Display featuring M-specific readouts and controls. BMW iDrive 8 also includes BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, BMW Apps, and both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The standard M Sport seats are trimmed in standard SensaTec/Alcantara or optional Vernasca leather/SensaTec. Also available are the performance oriented M Carbon bucket seats constructed with carbon fiber-reinforced plastic, shaving 23lbs off vehicle weight. Also standard is three-zone automatic climate control, BMW Maps navigation, and M Driver Professional.
Production of the 2023 BMW M3 Coupe starts in April 2023 with a base MSRP of $62,200.
