The 2022 BMW X3 M and X4 M
After their successful launch two years ago, the BMW X3 M and X4 M receive updates for the 2022 model year. Exterior design changes, updated technology, and a notable power increase make these twins better than ever.
The biggest change for the 2022 X3 M and X4 M is the updated engine tuning of the S58 engine. Also found in the current M3 and M4, this BMW M developed inline 6-cylinder engine makes 473 horsepower and 457 lb-ft of torque. This in increase of 13 lb-ft of torque from the previous model year. The Competition versions of both vehicles now make 503 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque, a massive increase of 37 lb-ft from last year. The extra power is good enough to shave 0.2 seconds from the 0-60 time, or 0.3 in the Competition models.
On the outside, the X3 M and X3 M receive larger, one piece kidney grilles and thinner LED headlights. The front bumpers have also been redesigned for a more aggressive appearance as well as increased airflow to the engine. Updated full LED tail lights and new rear bumpers round out the exterior changes.
The X3 M and X4 M feature larger infotainment display screens and the latest iDrive system with BMW Live Cockpit Professional. This includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Also borrowed from the M3 and M4 are new M gear select with Drivelogic rocker switch. New set-up buttons allow for easy changing of the vehicles many M Drive modes.
The 2022 BMW X3 M and X4 M are set to launch in September 2021. The X3 M will start at $69,900 while the X4 M will start at $73,400.
