The evolution of the BMW M2 continues with the introduction of the 2020 BMW M2 CS. A new engine, more carbon fiber, and the same everyday usability make this the most capable 2 Series to date.

The heart of the M2 CS is the same S55 found in the BMW M4. This 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-6 makes 444 hp, an increase of 39 hp over the previous M2 Competition. Torque remains the same at 406 lb-ft. Acceleration from 0-60 happens in as little as 3.8 seconds. The M2 CS remains one of the few BMW’s offered with a standard 6-speed manual. A 7-speed M Double Clutch Transmission is optional.

For the first time, the M2 CS will come standard with an Adaptive M suspension. This setup combines with the Active M Differential to provide an unrivaled sporting drive. The Active M differential can vary the locking effect from 0 to 100 depending on the driving situation. Taking into account steering angle, accelerator and brake pressure, engine torque, wheel speed, and yaw rate, the differential ensure power is delivered where it needs to be. This system also works proactively, preventing wheel spin before it occurs.

BMW M2 CS Interior

Standard M Compound brakes can be upgraded to M Carbon Ceramic Brakes, another first for the M2. Staggered 19-inch wheels in either High-Gloss Jet Black or Gold matte finish are standard.

The M2 CS is also fitted with extensive weight save carbon fiber. For the first time in an M2, a CFRP roof is standard. A CFRP hood, front spoiler, rear spoiler, rear diffuser and M twin-stalk are also standard. The carbon fiber trend continues on the inside where CFRP panels are accented with Alcantara.

BMW M2 CS Racing

Proving that the M2 is the most track ready car you can buy, the M2 CS was developed side by side with the M2 CS Racing model. This customer racing entry model shares many of the same components found on the road car.

Production for the 2020 M2 CS begins in March 2020 for a summer release.
