BMW has been known as a luxury leader for decades, and they’re making a new wave with their i lineup of electric vehicles. However, there’s also the new kid on the block, Tesla, which only makes electric vehicles. When it comes to the 2023 BMW iX vs. Tesla Model X, we think you should go with the manufacturer that’s been known for luxury quality for decades. We think you should go with BMW. Pacific BMW has the full story on the differences between the 2023 BMW iX and Tesla Model X as well as an apply for financing form that’ll get you pre-approved.

2023 BMW iX vs. Tesla Model X: Interior

When you consider the 2023 BMW iX or Tesla Model X, one big question people in Los Angeles and Hollywood ask us is, how luxurious is the interior? We have to hand it to the BMW because the quality of craftsmanship is simply nicer when you get inside the BMW. There’s more premium material usage, not to mention the BMW ShyTech design philosophy that makes for a sleeker overall experience. Here’s a short list of what’s built into the BMW ShyTech interior:

  • Speakers are hidden behind acoustic fabric
  • Radiant heat in the dash and door panels
  • Visually minimized buttons and controls
  • Touch-sensitive surfaces in open-pore wood

2023 BMW iX vs. Tesla Model X: Maintenance

Either the 2023 BMW iX or Tesla Model X features a basic warranty of 4 years or 50,000 miles. However, where the BMW comes out ahead is its maintenance warranty of 3 years or 36,000 miles. Tesla doesn’t have a maintenance warranty, which poses a problem when Consumer Reports “expect[s] the 2023 Model X to be less reliable than other new cars. This prediction is based on Tesla’s brand history and the previous models of the Model X.” That, plus the low number of Tesla service centers (the only place to get a Tesla fixed), should give you pause when considering one of these vehicles.
