BMW Expands Electric Vehicle Charging Options with Access to Tesla Supercharger Network
In a continued effort to provide the best possible electric vehicle charging experience for its customers, BMW has announced that BMW drivers will gain access to designated Tesla Supercharger stations. The companies will work together in the coming months to create a seamless customer experience enabling BMW drivers to find and access available Superchargers as well as make payments through the My BMW App. Also as part of this arrangement, BMW has committed to adopting the North American Charging Standard (NACS) for its battery electric vehicles in North America, starting in 2025.
The Tesla Supercharger network is the largest global fast charging network in the world with over 50,000 charging stations. That includes over 300 stations in California and 2 within the city of Glendale. This is in addition to the 30,000 new charging station BMW has committed to building in metropolitan areas and along major highways across North America. With access to both of these networks, BMW has set itself up to have the most comprehensive electric vehicle support of any manufacturer.
