BMW recently unveiled the 2019 BMW X7 luxury midsize SUV, and it impresses on many levels with its unique design, roomy and upscale interior, smooth and quiet ride, off-road capabilities, and a plethora of cutting-edge technologies. The all-new BMW X7 also boasts impressive towing capabilities.
2019 BMW X7 Maximum Towing Capacity
When equipped with a BMW factory hitch, the 2019 BMW X7 has a maximum towing capacity of 7,500 pounds. With a 3rd party hitch, it can tow up to 5,950 pounds. This impressive towing prowess can be credited to the BMW X7’s durable and high-strength frame, as well as its powerful engine options. Buyers of the BMW X7 have a choice of the BMW TwinPower Turbo 3.0L six-cylinder engine (X7 xDrive40i), which produces 335 horsepower and 330 lb-ft of torque, and the BMW TwinPower Turbo 4.4L V8 engine (xDrive50i), which churns out 479 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque. Towing is also aided by the eight-speed Steptronic transmission, which features new torsion dampers and new control electronics for greater torque and efficiency.
